Taking Attendance (Swipe Screen)
Gestures, keyboard shortcuts, reasons, mark-all, and undo on the swipe screen.
Reached by tapping Check Attendance or Edit Attendance on a class. One student card at a time, next one peeking behind it.

An Absent button is always pinned in the bottom bar (also triggered by the / key). Cards tint green/red/orange as you drag, with a tick + vibration on release.
Reasons
Excused/Late opens a row of reason chips. Tap one to finalize, or Other for a free-text note. Press Esc/Enter to skip picking a reason. Customize the chip list in Settings → Reason Codes.
Order & tools
- Shuffle icon or A–Z to reorder the deck; M/F groups by sex when A–Z is active.
- Tap the class name (top center) to jump to another class via the section switcher.
- Tap a card without swiping to see the student’s last 5 records.
Mark all / Finish
- Mark all present: marks everyone still unrecorded as Present.
- Finish: ends the session; warns if anyone’s still unrecorded.
- Every action shows an Undo toast right after it happens.
Once everyone’s processed you get a recap: tally counts, a reasons breakdown, and Done.
Read-only accounts
If your Paid subscription lapses, your account drops to the Free plan: you can still record attendance for existing classes and students within the Free plan’s limits (3 classes, 150 students), but can’t add more until you’re back under the cap or resubscribe (see Account, Plans & Billing).
